Morebelli is based in Antananarivo, Madagascar, we have to go through a full export procedure to send your goods. At this moment it takes 10 days to make your goods ready for shipping.

How to order?

Please register to our online shop and login. Once you have chosen your gems, review your shopping cart, select your payment method and send us your billing information and shipping instructions to complete the order. We will send you an email with all the details verifying your purchase.

How can I pay for my gemstones?

There are 2 ways to pay:

  1. Paying by Credit Card. We accept Visa and MasterCard credit cards. How to secure the credit card information of the customer? 
  2. You can also Wire Funds to our account at ABSA Bank in Mauritius. Our Bank details will be e-mailed to you with your order confirmation.
What about shipping and insurance?

Shipping from Madagascar is very cost and time intensive. In order to fully apply our fair trade commitments and make Madagascar benefit from its wealth we pay full duties and costs.

All our invoices will show CIF (cost – insurance -freight).

In many countries, properly declared shipments are subject to custom charges and tax. Please keep in mind that we have no control over extra charges occurring in your country. The buyer is responsible for any customs, tax and duties in their country. Returns because of such charges cannot be accepted.

–    Signature upon delivery is required

–    Your shipment may be subjected to taxes and extra customs clearance charges.

Insurance is mandatory and is 0,75% of the total, with a minimum of 250US$.

Release Signature on File:

If Fedex has authorisation to release parcels without your signature (called a ‘Release Signature on File’), please call FEDEX to revoke the authorisation. A FEDEX package left without a signature because FEDEX has a ‘Release Signature on File’ for your address, will not be covered by our insurance carrier.

Damaged Packages:

If there is physical evidence of tampering, please immediately indicate the damage to the carrier. If the package is empty or damaged, Do Not Accept The Parcel. All loss or damage claims must be reported to us within 24 hours of discovery of the loss or damage.


Orders are shipped from Madagascar. We will start the export procedure of your order the next work day after your payment has cleared, Monday through Friday excluding Madagascar public holidays.

What is your return policy?

Customer satisfaction is our top priority. If you are not completely satisfied we are pleased to offer a fourteen (14) day return policy on all gemstone purchases. If within 14 days of receiving your gemstone you become dissatisfied with it, return it in its original undamaged, unaltered condition for a refund or a credit. There will be no questions asked and there are no hidden restocking fees.

We will subtract 4% from refunds to cover credit card fees. However, as a gesture of goodwill for our valued customers, we will give you store credit for the 4% fee, credit you can apply to your next gemstone purchase.

Please send us an E-mail asking for return instructions. The export, shipping and insurance fees are not refundable. All returned merchandise must be sent by FEDEX. Appropriate return packaging and registered mail fees are the responsibility of the customer returning the merchandise. We will insure all returned items at our own expense. After 14 days all sales are final (returned items must be postmarked within 14 days of the date you received the items).

If you have decided that you do not want the merchandise after it has been shipped but before it arrives, please Do Not Refuse FEDEX Delivery. All Items must be returned to us only by FEDEX ; we must insure these items using the FEDEX receipt number. If the merchandise is refused you will be liable for the full value of the item or items if lost and all brokerage charges and duty incurred upon its return.

Gemstone Certificate?

There are no labs in Madagascar except the IGM – Institut de Gemologie de Madagascar, and our own Morebelli Gem Lab. We can deliver these certificats on request. Anyway, we buy rough from the mines and only from trusted people with whom we care a long-lasting business relationship.

Gemstone certificates state that gemstones are natural and not man made, they are not appraisals of value. We suggest that if you want a gemstone certificate you get one from an independent gemstone laboratory.  We do guarantee all our gemstones to be natural.

What about treatments?

Morebelli is doing only unheated and natural gemstones. The only thing we like to do to our gems is polishing them.

If by any circumstance we want to heat a stone to brighten up the color it will be mentioned in the description, therefore unheated means the enhancement is none, no enhancement or any treatment.

Heated when done in a natural environment without chemical enhancements is accepted in the trade as a natural enhancement. It is not to be confused with gemstones that have been heat treated with light elements or other chemical enhancements that may alter the color of the stone. Most natural coloured gemstones are heat treated to intensify their color diminish imperfections or improve durability. Heating gemstones in an oven is a treatment that has been done to fine gemstones for hundreds of years.

Safe Technology

Morebelli uses SSL encryption to process credit card payments.

All of your personal information is encrypted, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read as the information travels across the Internet.

Furthermore, all of the customer data we collect is protected against unauthorized access. We do not store customer credit card information on our servers.

Are any of your gemstones synthetic or created?

All of our stones are 100% natural – no created or synthetic stones.

Why do you need my phone number and the phone number of the person to whom I want to ship my order?

The phone numbers allows us to contact you if there’s any questions about your order. The shipping companies require the phone numbers of the intended recipient so they can contact them if there is any problems with their delivery.
